Welcome to Helensville Primary School

“Where we know what it is to be a learner”

We are a fantastic full primary school situated on a terraced hillside overlooking the Helensville district and the Kaipara River.  Am I biased?  Of course!  To be a part of Helensville School means to fall in love with the vibrant, friendly children, the passionate, dedicated staff and the supportive local community.

Our school has a special history:

The school grounds are situated on Maori land gifted to the community in the nineteenth century for the purpose of education. The school celebrated its 125th jubilee in 2002.   In 2009 we had the joy and privilege of opening a bilingual Te Reo Maori unit, which has arisen out of the hard work and vision of community members.

Our school has an exciting present:

Today the school is a community which knows it is here to provide the best possible learning environment for all of its members.  We have a purpose and the Board of Trustees, the staff, the parents and the children work alongside one another to engage with the New Zealand Curriculum in a way which is meaningful and relevant for the children of Helensville School.

Our school has a significant future:

As educators, we know we have influence on young lives.  We are continually reflecting on what we do so that we refine and improve our practice for the benefit of our students.  We are committed to growing our fine school into one which prepares learners to take up their place in the future, having the knowledge, skills and attributes which will see them confident and equipped to do so.
